Be the Guy Who Never Gets Sick 1 1

When the seasons change, so does your immunity. You have a busy life and there’s just no time to be lying in a bed of crumpled up tissues, sneezing your brains out. Luckily, there are a few things you can incorporate into your life that will elevate your immune system to a whole new level. Be the guy who never gets sick.

1.  Cook with Garlic

Garlic is anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-cancer and anti-fungal. Rich in vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C and B-6 as well as copper, iron, calcium and selenium. Garlic is awesome for clearing your lymph system and regulating your blood pressure. Plus it just makes everything taste amazing. Throw some garlic into your stir fry, guacamole, or sprinkle on some toast with a bit of olive oil.

2.  Immune boosting mushrooms

Say what now? Certain types of mushrooms such as reishi, chaga and cordyceps are amazing for your immune system health. They basically give you super powers to fight off any virus or infection. Shitake mushrooms have the same immune boosting qualities if that’s what you prefer. Take a capsule from the health food store or make a dry reishi mushroom tea and weird out your friends.

3.  Vitamin C

Easily the planet’s most popular vitamin. You can even get a little pack of it at the gas station now. I would steer clear from the “ascorbic acid” form of vitamin C because it is very harsh on the digestive tract. Instead, opt for 1000mg of a calcium buffered vitamin C otherwise known as “Ester-C”. It’s a lot more gentle on your system and more easily absorbed.

4.  Zinc

When you notice a cold coming on, taking zinc can lessen symptoms by up to 50%! Zinc is a trace mineral that almost everyone is deficient in. It’s what your immune system needs to be strong and fight off any bug that might come along. The best form to take is called “Ionic Zinc”. It’s in a liquid form so it’s much more absorbable than a tablet.

5.  Ginger tea

This is one of the best things for you when you’re sick. Ginger is anti-microbial and a natural anti-biotic. Ginger contains a compound called gingerol which acts like a natural Tylenol. It relaxes the body, relieves pain and kills off harmful bacteria. The best way to have ginger is boiled in a tea. Slice up a knob and boil it in a pot of water for about 15 minutes. You’re left with a spicy, golden liquid that will cure whatever ails you.

6.  Colloidal Silver

Pardon? That’s right, Colloidal Silver is critical for kicking that cold to the curb. When you feel symptoms coming on, take a small dose in the morning with some water. Colloidal Silver is naturally anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-viral. When taken in small doses, it can kill the virus before it even starts. You can find it in any health food store, usually in the supplement section.
