When you’ve been with the same girl for a while, regardless how well things are going, there’s an instinctual urge to go sleep with other women. It might be because of boredom, an urge to do something exciting, or just to do something different for a change.

Men are geared toward spreading their seed to as many women as possible, and it’s written into our genetics. Men weren’t necessarily made to be with only one partner, but society has transformed us to be that way. Unfortunately, you can’t fight your genes, and these tendencies to go with other women often emerge.

But rather than succumbing to primal urges, you do have an obligation to be faithful. So here are 5 ways to fight the urge to cheat on your girl:

#1 – Take Care of Yourself

Think about every time you have sex. When you have an orgasm, you immediately are done with that scene and want to do something else. If you masturbate and get it out of your system, you won’t want to cheat. It’s that simple.

You’ll want to go play video games or something, or perhaps play some sports. But cheating? You won’t do it.

#2 – Improve Your Relationship

When you’re feeling an urge to cheat, it could often be a result of things going poorly in your relationship. It could be that she’s being too needy, or you’re not being forgiving enough. Whatever the reason, you need to think deeply about why you’re feeling the need to cheat on your girl.

More often than not, it’s not just because you want to have sex with someone else and try something new.

#3 – Get a Hobby

A lot of times you feel the urge to cheat are because you have way too much time on your hands. If you had a hobby that took up a slot of your time, you might not be thinking so much about having sex with other women.

You could try joining a team, a club, or just thinking about starting a business. Either of these things could take up some time so you’re not thinking about sex all the time.

#4 – Start With Yourself

If you find yourself with these feelings in all of your relationships, you could be the problem. Think about why you keep doing this and can’t hold down a relationship.

If things are bad enough, you may need professional help from a counselor.

#5 Limit Your Internet Usage

It’s estimated that up to 40% of all cheating happens or starts online. If you limit your time online, you’ll have a less of a chance of feeling tempted to go online and find someone to cheat on your girl with. It’s that simple!
