3 Interesting Ways to Lose Weight with Minimal Effort

by on May 7, 2015

Losing a considerable amount of weight is a pain in the butt. But even losing 10 pounds is annoying.

There is no easy way to lose weight fast. It takes a good diet, dedication, and patience to happen over time.

But like most things in life, there are certainly ways to get an edge when it comes to losing weight.

If you’re like most people and lead sedentary lives, these tips will be life savers when it comes to losing weight and getting in shape:

Here are 3 awesome ways to lose weight with minimal effort:

Be Restless at Work

Unfortunately, most people who are overweight work jobs which involve sitting down most of the day. Sitting down burns virtually no calories, and you do it for perhaps 7 hours per day or longer at work, which is then increased to perhaps 10 hours once you get home and, once again. sit on the couch.

This is why you need to be restless while sitting. You can tap your foot, move your leg up and down, or quietly move your fingers. Over an extended period of time, studies have shown that fidgeting can burn as much as 200 calories in a given work day.

That’s a lot just from shaking your leg around!

Try Standing at Work and Typing

Standing burns more calories than sitting, and it’s also much healthier, as well. Why? Because you’re getting more circulation that way.

It’s a smart idea to alternate between these two positions, though. Obviously, nobody can stand all day at work, but we thought you should know.

While standing is obviously healthier for the legs and cardiovascular system, it also leads to calorie-burning activities, like leaning on one side, or perhaps moving in one spot more often.

Leave Your Desk Every Hour

Your overlords may not like this because they’re heartless and only think about money, but you need to get up and move around at least every hour.

Use this opportunity to use the bathroom, get a drink from the water cooler, get another coffee, or to simply walk to the end of the hallway and then back again.

Whether your boss likes it or not, you can’t sit down all day. It’s bad for your health. Studies have shown that people who sit down for more than 6 hours per day have a 30% higher chance of an earlier death.

I don’t know about you, but dying 30% earlier just because my boss didn’t want me to walk down the hallway once in awhile isn’t exactly worth it.

These 3 interesting ways to lose weight will help you achieve your weight goals. Give them a shot!

If they don’t work, schedule in some time for a nice workout after work. It’ll brighten your mood, lift your spirits, and boost your confidence.
